The Children’s Home grows

The Girls dormitory.. Now finished!
We had raised enough money to build a children’s home to house around 30 children. When we left Trincomalee the children’s home consisted of one dormitory built to window level, this was to be the girl’s dormitory.
The building work is now finished despite the civil war and the worsening political situation. Additional building work has taken place to include a toilet block, a kitchen and a hall.

This is the first time that the majority of them have slept off the floor.
It is also necessary to connect the homes to the water mains, as the water in the well has turned acidic.

Electricity has been connected, and the children have recently been provided with bunk beds.
